Every year, wedding fairs around the world attract large numbers of couples, looking for the best vendors for their upcoming wedding, or just browsing for ideas on decoration, menus, invitations and overall style of their wedding day. Cake makers, caterers, ateliers, locations and wedding planners are all there, showcasing their services and very often, bride and grooms-to- be don’t realise how to best take advantage of these types of events.
So, we’re here to help:
- DO YOUR RESEARCH
The sheer volume of what’s on offer can sometimes be overwhelming, especially when considering larger fairs where numbers of vendors are not counted in tens but rather in hundreds. Most organisers publish lists of participating professionals beforehand, so check who is there and have a look at their websites to get a general feel of what they’re able to do for you. Very often, you already have a rough idea of what you want your wedding day to be like, so visiting locations, florists and caterers, who don’t fit with your vision is really pointless and will only take time away the time you could spend talking to the professional, who could make what you envision for your wedding day a reality.
- KEEP AN OPEN MIND
This point seems to contradict the previous one, but I promise it’s not. While it’s completely understandable that you do have some ideas for your wedding day, it is still wise to talk to a few people you aren’t completely sure about whether or not they’ll fit into your wedding story. Professionals in the wedding industry are usually very creative and can offer a slightly different view of what could ultimately be a spectacular wedding.
- ALWAYS VISIT THE WEDDING PLANNERS
A lot of couples, who are half decided to organise their wedding by themselves often skip the wedding planners’ stands all together. After all, if you’re going to plan your wedding alone, why would you talk to a wedding planner, right? Wrong.
Wedding fairs are the best moment to talk to wedding planners. Not only due to all the promotions and discounts on our services we usually offer during these types of events, but also because you can have a lovely chat with us and you may just end up with some useful tips for your wedding. We are there, promoting our services just like everyone else. But while florists are great with flowers, caterers with menus photographers with, well, photography, what a good wedding planner has, is a great ability to look at a wedding as a whole. It’s our job to connect all the vendors, making them function as a team and pulling all of your wishes and desires together to create a wedding masterpiece. And, while you may not want our help in terms of a full-service wedding planning, upon hearing about other types of our services (such as hourly consultations), you may find that we can make the planning of your wedding a much more enjoyable process.
